Our class novel for Autumn Term 1 : How to train your dragon

How To Train Your Dragon  by Cressida Cowell is about a boy called Hiccup who lives in a Viking village where everyone admires being strong, however Hiccup isn't like the other Vikings.  He has to train a dragon to take his place in his tribe, however his dragon is small and cheeky and not fierce like the others.  Hiccup sets out to prove that being smart and kind can be just as effective as being strong.

Hit the Button

Hit the Button is an interactive maths game with quick fire questions on number bonds, times tables, doubling and halving, multiples, division facts and square numbers.

The games, which are against the clock, challenge and develop mental maths skills. An untimed, practise mode is available in the Hit the Button app along with lots more extra features.

The activities can be matched to appropriate mathematical ability. Regular use of Hit the Button can help students to sharpen their recall of vital number facts in a fun way and learning multiplication tables need not be boring.
