Welcome to Courage Class

Welcome to Courage Class – where we believe that you are never too young to make a difference.

As the oldest children in the school, Year 6 is about much more than preparing for SATs. It is a year of leadership, responsibility, resilience and unforgettable experiences. Guided by our class value of Courage, we encourage every child to step outside their comfort zone, embrace new challenges and discover what they are truly capable of.

Throughout the year, we become role models for the younger children, leading Collective Worship, championing sustainability as Eco Leaders and helping to make our school a happy, safe and inspiring place to learn.

Our curriculum is packed with exciting opportunities that bring learning to life. We explore the fascinating world of the Ancient Egyptians, discover the engineering genius of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, visit museums, theatres and places of historical significance, and take part in our residential visit to Bristol. We challenge ourselves through outdoor adventures, including surfing on the Cornish coast, building teamwork, confidence and resilience along the way.

Above all, Courage Class is a place where children are encouraged to think deeply, ask big questions, work hard, support one another and celebrate every success. We know that courage isn't about never feeling afraid—it's about having the confidence to keep going, try something new and believe in yourself.

We can't wait to share this incredible Year 6 journey with you.
